• Remove wall décor near the work area, since vibration from removal and installation can occasionally jostle nearby items.
• Cover or move valuables in the rooms where work is happening, even though most crews use protective floor coverings.
• Plan for pets — an open work area for several hours isn't ideal for pets that might slip outside; consider a separate room or arranging care for the day.
• Clear exterior access — trim back landscaping and clear a path to each window's exterior side if the crew needs it.
• Confirm parking — installers often need to park a truck or trailer close to the home; check if your street has any restrictions.
